1909 Coca Cola "Exhibition Girl" Serving Tray. Chicago Greek Candy Provenance!
1909 Coca Cola "Exhibition Girl" Serving Tray. Chicago Greek Candy Provenance!
SOLD $325.00 Sold: Nov 10, 2023 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
eBay Original and authentic 1909 Large Oval Coca Cola Tray. "The Exhibition Girl" Featuring a lovely girl in a blue dress enjoying a glass of Coca-Cola. Text reads Drink Coca-Cola. Marked The H. D. Beach Co. of Coshocton. Tray Dimensions approximately 16 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches. Condition is good, with some dents, and many surface marks and wear. Please look at pictures for best idea of condition, as I would need too much space to describe every imperfection. Very cool thing about the tray is that the previous owner had taped the history of it on the back tracing it to having been originally used in their family's Confectionary business in South Side of Chicago (near as I can read that part) until business was sold in 1926, and 'Antonoplos Brothers' a famous name in Candy and Ice cream was no more. I Could not find any specific information on the business in my cursory online research, but did find a reference to two brothers with that last name living in the south side, so likely business wasn't located too far from where they lived. Nice little piece of Chicago and Greek confectionary history. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for Coca Cola collectors and appraisers.
