Antique Coca-Cola 1903 Adv Tray with Hilda Clark 9" Chas. W. Shonk, Chicago
Antique Coca-Cola 1903 Adv Tray with Hilda Clark 9" Chas. W. Shonk, Chicago
SOLD $510.00 Sold: Mar 4, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This antique Coca Cola advertising tray from 1903 features the iconic Broadway star Hilda Clark; who was both a model and a Broadway sensation. She was the first Celebrity endorser for Coca-Cola. As a smaller full size tray, it measures approximately 9-1/4" and is a must-have for any collector of vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia who wants original pieces. The tray does definitely have wear and is in overall fair condition; however, she is 121 years old and anyone who even gets close to that age has "crazing" to their exterior too. The words "Delicious" and "Refreshing" are barely visible in the background. You can still slightly make out that there are words on the letter on her lap, and the word "Coca-" on her glass. The words "Drink ... Delicious ... Refreshing" along with the "Coca-Cola Trademark Registered" are legible near the bottom. Inside the bottom rim it reads "Chas. W. Shonk Co., Inc. Chicago". The rim has wear all around it. The only area of rust is at the bottom, on the letter area. ALL areas are shown in the pictures which are shown in a clockwise pattern, with close ups to show her blemishes. These original Coca-Cola trays of the earliest years are soooo difficult to find in good condition (there are only 2 other years known that are earlier, the 1897 and 1899). If you don't have a 1903 Hilda Clark, don't miss out on the opportunity to add this rare tray to your collection. She has been in my personal collection for over 20 years. I purchased her in a protected shadow box and she stayed in there until today, and has been in a non-smoking environment. I've never come across another one, but I am changing my collecting theme, so it's time for another collector to enjoy having her in their home.*** PLEASE NOTE: WE TAKE OUR COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT SERVICE FOR OUR BUYERS VERY SERIOUSLY.
