There was a small family owned grocery on the front street in my little town. The early, old-fashioned kind of shop with the wooden shelving wall running behind the counter. The owner was such a sweet, elderly woman who had devoted her life to this darling little shop, and I would regularly stop to visit with her. When she told me she was preparing to close her grocery, she asked me to please pick anything that I would like to have, and I chose this. I have had it for 30+ years, and I am now downsizing and selling off my things. It has a few issues as shown in the photos, but they are forgivable and is just so lovely hanging in a room. I've always had it by the kitchen sink and enjoyed it while working in my kitchen. It is missing a screw, has a paint drip, and some scribble scratches. These are all shown in the photos.
