Rare and original, 1909 Coca-Cola Celluloid Advertising Pocket Mirror in fine, original condition featuring a beautiful young woman and a view of the 1909 Alaska-Yukon Exposition - a World's Fair held in Seattle, Washington. The Mirror is known to collectors as the “Exhibition Girl” Mirror and is exceptionally rare. This fantastic, mirror measures approx. 1 3/4” x 2 3/4” and features a portrait of a beautiful young woman wearing a somewhat low cut dress and seated at a table enjoying a soda fountain glass of Coca-Cola. Behind her we see the grounds of the World's Fair. Text on the mirror reads simply "Drink Coca-Cola" and the mirror carries the mark of the manufacturer - J. B. Carroll of Chicago. There is also text on the rolled rim that reads "Duplicate Mirrors, 5¢ Postage, Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta, GA.". The corresponding, 1909 Coke Tray which uses the same image is known to collectors as the "Exposition Girl" Tray This outstanding 1909 Coca-Cola Advertising Mirror is unconditionally guaranteed to be an original 1909 Coca-Cola Pocket Mirror and is NOT a reproduction, reissue, reprint or recent piece - it was manufactured and distributed in 1909 by the Coca-Cola Company. This 1909 Coke Advertising Mirror is in excellent condition. The surface is intact and sound and the colors are bright and vibrant. There are no cracks, chips, scratches, crazing or physical damage to the celluloid of any kind although there is some VERY light surface scuffing that can only be seen when the Mirror is held at an acute angle to a light source and that only affect the outer surface shine. There is absolutely no foxing, staining, discoloration or fading to the the celluloid surface. The mirror back does have a a square area of loss to the silver backing as can be seen in the scan below (likely from a very old price sticker) but overall the Mirror is exceptionally well preserved and displays beautifully.
