SOLD $153.50 Sold: Apr 14, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Original and very rare, 1936 Coca-Cola Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Tray with Glamour Girl / Actress in very good, original condition. This wonderful oblong Coke Tray measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/4" and pictures a beautiful young girl wearing a long, form fitting silk gown and lounging seductively on a green upholstered armchair. She wears a beautiful, orchid corsage and holds a highball type glass full of Coca-Cola in her right hand. On the table in the foreground are 2 classic 10oz bottles of Coke and an empty glass with ice cubes (I guess she is waiting for us to join her). The tray is marked on the inside of the inner, decorative, gilt border "O Coca-Cola Co. 1936" / "American Art Works, Inc. Coshocton, O." / "Made in U.S.A.". This beautiful Coca-Cola Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original 1936 Serving Tray manufactured by the American Art Works, Inc. for Coca-Cola in 1936. The tray is in very good, original condition - the lithography is bright and crisp and the surface is generally well preserved. There are some small and scattered surface blemishes and light scratches most noticeably just to the right of the woman's waist. There is a bit of light clouding to the surface in the lower right hand quadrant of the image area but both the raised rim and the rolled edge are very well preserved. The surface of the Tray is stable and sound with no crazing. The back side of the Tray is well preserved with scattered, small blemishes. Please see the scans below for a good representation of the form and the condition of this early 20th century Coke Tray!
